Who we are
Welcome to the West Coast Kayak Angler Series, where passion for kayak fishing meets community spirit!
Launched in 2019 by a small group of dedicated kayak anglers, our series aims to grow the sport on Vancouver Island while fostering a vibrant community of like-minded enthusiasts. In our inaugural year, we hosted five successful events, and we’re thrilled to expand to seven events in 2020.
Each of our two-day events offers both freshwater and saltwater fishing opportunities, showcasing the incredible fisheries and breathtaking locations Vancouver Island has to offer. We typically host events at or near Provincial or private campgrounds, encouraging participants to turn these weekends into family-friendly adventures.
Join us on this exciting journey as we explore, compete, and connect. Our events also highlight important initiatives to sustain, protect, and enhance local fisheries, ensuring these resources thrive for generations to come.

Who we Support
As a series we take pride in supporting and giving back to local not for profit organizations that directly support our fisheries.
Each of these organizations support habitat restoration, education or benefit the long term sustainability of our fisheries (hatcheries).
Oyster River Enhancement Society
The Oyster River Enhancement Society is a group of volunteers dedicated to preserving, protecting and enhancing the beauty and natural environment of the Oyster River.
Their volunteers, who come from all over the Comox Valley area, Campbell River (and sometimes farther!) have made the society what it is today with thousands of hours of dedicated effort.
Fanny Bay Salmonid Enhancement Society
Fanny Bay Salmonid Enhancement Society's goal is to rebuild the wild Coho population in local streams and restore Chinook, Chum and Pinks in historically used creeks.
Pacific Salmon Foundation
The Pacific Salmon Foundation, founded in 1987, is a non-profit environmental organization dedicated to making transformational change for the benefit of Pacific salmon at every scale – from the smallest streams to the open ocean.
